Iraq Signs an Agreement to Cut off Debts with Hungary

On Wednesday April 30th 2006, Mr. Dhia’a Al Dabbas, Ambassador of Iraq to Prague signed an agreement to cut off 80 % of the 229 million dollars of Hungarian debts on Iraq. The agreement was signed on the Hungarian side by Mr. Janos Theries, Minister of Finance in the headquarters of the ministry of finance in the Hungarian capital Budapest.

The Hungarian minister expressed his pleasure to reach this agreement which enhances the development of bilateral relations and demonstrates the bonds of friendship between the two countries.

Ambassador Al Dabbas expressed thanks of the government of Iraq on this step that shows the goodwill of the Hungarian side in extending help to the Iraqi people to overcome this critical phase in their history.
