A delegation representing Indian companies is visiting Basra to learn about the investment opportunities in the province, a media source said.
“The delegation, which consists of a number of Indian companies, held on Thursday talks with the second deputy governor, Ahmad al-Hasni, on investment opportunities in different fields in Basra,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
Al-Hasni expressed hope to sign a memorandum of understanding in economic, investment and trade fields.
Basra is 590 km south of Baghdad.
