The Iraqi Finance Ministry confirmed on Monday that "it decided to apply the law of tariff at the end of next June and there is no reverse on the application of this decision despite the request of some parties to wait.
The official in the Information Office of the Minister of Finance Mohammed Zaid, told Kurdish news agency (Rn) that "the Ministry of Finance intends to apply the tariff law at the end of next June and there is no intention to delay the work with it."
He also explained that the law passed by the House of Representatives and became the duty of the application, noting that the ministry and an executive "in the application of what comes before the House of Representatives."
The Ministry of Finance has decided last March to begin the application of tariff end of next June after the futures last year to more than once because of the demand by some countries and traders.
The activation of the new tariff law will cancel the old law which is set by the civil administrator of Iraq after 2003, Paul Bremer, which provides 5% payment tax on all goods imported from outside the country.
