The Director of General Company for Maritime Transport in Baghdad Samir Abdul Razak Hussein, announced the implementation of the " marine taxi " project in the waters of the Tigris River and Shatt al-Arab to move people from one place to another.
Hussein said: that the General Company for Maritime Transport will implement the project " marine taxi " in the waters of the Tigris River and Shatt al-Arab, noting that the project includes work on the transfer of citizens on nautical boats by modern fare and few are similar to the work of taxis in the movement. The Company will establish waiting stations on the edge of the River Tigris and Shatt al-Arab in order citizens are able of waiting boats to shift from one place to another instead of movement by road. Hussein said: that the company's goal of the project is to reduce the momentum in the streets and transfer of citizens rapidly to the desired areas by boats instead of cars.
