The federal budget of 2013 waits for the approval from Iraqi Government for additional sums

10 Jan 2013
The MP Najiba Najeeb of the Parliamentary Finance Committee disclosed that the Iraqi parliament’s chairmanship and the committee turned the federal budget draft of the year 2013 back to the Government since 16th last December for adding some extra funds on in, yet the government did not resend it so far. It was also stated by Najiba Najeeb to the media that the government is in charge of the budget law draft and it has to put in the funds granted by the Parliament for each of the budgets of the Parliament, Authority and the Higher Commission for Human Rights. MP Najiba Najeeb also stated that the federal budget’s first and second readings were completed by the financial committee and what is left is only the closing draft, which takes one week to get finished. It is really notable to mention that the Council of Ministers has sanctioned the 2013 federal budget, which reached IQD 138 trillion, on 23th October, 2012. Source: [AIN]
