12,000 to attend Gulf Iraqi Expo

The Gulf Iraqi Expo (GIX) is expected to draw more than 12,000 visitors from Iraq and the Gulf region, when it opens in Bahrain in November at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre.
More than 900 companies are planning to meet 300 decision-makers from the Iraqi government representing 28 ministries, covering all governmental and private sectors, according the Jordan-based organisers I-vision.
More than 1,250 business people are also expected to attend in order to directly interact with those in attendance to achieve business agreements.
This comes in line with the Iraqi government's policy aimed at improving business relations with the Gulf and worldwide.
Conferences will be held at the expo to discuss topics including business in Iraq and business relationships between Iraq and the Gulf, Iraq needs, health sector, industry sector, infrastructure, general trade and private sector, investment opportunities, transportation and communication, higher education and information technology.
Speakers from Bahrain are, the Industry and Commerce Minister Dr Hassan Fakhro and Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry chairman Essam Fakhro.
Others include Iraqi ministers and top officials from the trade and commerce fields.
GIX, taking place from November 1 to 3, is the first trade and industrial show to be held by the Iraqi government in the Gulf region.
