Japanese companies build new housing units in Baghdad

A member in Baghdad Council, Salah Abdul Razzaq said that the Council is about to sign agreements with Korean and Japanese companies to establish 73 thousand housing units in al-Rustamiya and 63 thousand housing units in al-Dahna as well as building modern apartments.
He stressed on the need to limit the random building of houses, and inviting the international companies to set up tourism projects in Baghdad and to revive this important sector, noting that the Reconstruction Commission in the Council is to prepare a study to cancel some of the investment contracts that can be dispensed and to establish homes for the elderly persons.
Meanwhile, the Baghdad Provincial Council began its first meeting after the election of new members for the second session, indicating that the meeting chaired by the oldest member of the Council to choose the chairman and his deputy, then the committees' functions will be distributed according to organized mechanism adopts professional tasks.
