$450 million power plant for Diyala province

$450 million power plant for Diyala province
To serve the people of the province of Diyala, work has been on the way on a new power plant. Turath Al-Azawi the province’s information officer has revealed this information.
The plant has been marked as one of the largest in the country, which is anticipated to generate 730 MW of electricity on completion, as stated by Azawi.
Franc’s Alstom, one of the world’s leading energy solutions and transport companies, is building the plant at a cost of $450 million.
Electricity Minister Abdulkarim Aftan, accompanied by representatives from Alston, set the tone for the project in last week. The project will take 18 months to be fully completed. Diyala, of which Baaquba is the provincial capital, relies solely on electricity imports from Iraq.
A drop of 500 MW has been estimated due to the decrease in Iran’s energy ferry.
