Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz said that 19 countries and 39 companies cooperate with the regional administration in northern Iraq.
In a statement the ministry added this and along with this statement, it also has been stated that Turkey’s intention is not to violate the constitution of Iraq rather the country is business minded, which will mutually help the both countries.
Yildiz accompanied Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan at his visit in Washington and had talks with some interlocutors. Yildiz claimed that a 3 hour long meeting was held with his American counterpart Daniel Poneman. Both of them came together with Carlos Pascual, the State Department's Special Envoy and Coordinator for International Energy Affairs and a delegation.
Minister Yildiz also stated that he was satisfied with the discussions and it will bring some efficient solutions. He also stated that Turkey is evaluated with bilateral projects with the Russian Federation, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Iraq and many other countries.
When the question raised - Are there any countries which have similar agreements with the administration of northern Iraq-", Minister stated, "There are 19 countries and 39 companies, so has the Constitution of Iraq been violated by only Turkey's job but not the other's- This is not a right approach. These are trade agreements. I'm repeating, it doesn't matter whether public or private company, they see no harm if the trade contracts are signed. The oil is being produced right now. The central Iraqi government transfers money, these are experienced there. This is not a new issue."
He also stated that they have begun projects in Northern Iraq as the country feels plenty of possibilities are there and Turkey has done fair deal with the northern Iraq. He said that they do not have any blurred vision rather they came with strong vision and with the hope for positive outcomes.
As per his opinion, they are going forward with the whole issue with a legitimate way. The Republic of Turkey is a state of law here and never stands in an illegal process, as claimed by the Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz.
