Water and radioactive pollutions detectors to be deployed in Iraq

On this Friday, Health Directorate in Dhi Qar revealed that the organization is determined to deploy high skilled devices for detecting radio-active pollution. The device will also be capable of finding the source of radio-active pollution, as added by the same. A total cost 2 billion and 600 million USD has been employed for remote detection of pollution in water.

Head of the Environment Directorate Mohsen Aziz stated, “My directorate has finished all the necessary procedures to import these state-of-the-art devices from the United States of America and Germany. They will be used to measure radioactive pollution and determine its source in addition to other equipment used for remote detection of pollution in water sources and air systems.”

He also pointed out that a cost of 2 billion and 600 million dinars will be required for importing the devices. The high end devices will be extremely efficient and will have the power to judge source destination with utmost precision. In his statement, Mr. Aziz remarked, “Deploying these high-end devices will help give continuous indices and readings about pollutants and pollution percentages in water by linking these detectors to water surfaces through special computers.”
He illustrated that the system will use two stationary and moving air stations for measuring air pollutions. Euphrates River in Dhi Qar is contaminated due to the infringements committed by hospitals and factories who discard of their waste in the river without any prior treatment. While on the other hand, the air of the country has been alarmingly polluted with radioactive and gaseous pollutants.
In collaboration with Al Nasiriyah municipality, Dhi Qar Directorate launched at a prior time a program dubbed “Yawmon fi Ousbou”. In the country, Thursday has been selected for doing all the green works, like – planting trees and maintaining the planted seeds by watering them. Municipalities are supplying seeds to the citizens for encouraging them to plant trees and making it a regular habit for saving environment of the country.
