Service projects in Iraq to begin, in Baghdad particularly

Iraq is all set for launching development and service projects in Baghdad worth up to 30 billion dinars ($25.8 million), the government said Monday.
These include the construction of water and sanitation networks, the pavement of roads and the construction of two bridges to alleviate traffic jams in the capital, said Deputy Prime Minister for Service Affairs Saleh al-Mutlaq.
He remarked, "The projects, which were awarded under the supervision of Amanat Baghdad, represent the first batch of projects scheduled to kick off before the end of the first half of this year."
Local private and government companies will carry out the work, he added.
