Armenian exports to Iraq reached 30 million USD

Armenia’s vice-premier and co-chair of Armenia-Iraq intergovernmental commission Armen Gevorgyan said that Armenian exports to Iraq amounted to about 30 million dollars in nine months of this year.
He also stated that in the same period Iraqi goods worth a total of about 22 million dollars were imported to Armenia.

The vice-premier said at the opening of “Exported Armenian Goods” exhibition, “We hope these levels will increase by the end of the year.” The key import item is oil products, Gevorgyan said.

The “Exported Armenian Goods” exhibition was held supported by the ministry of economy, Industrial Development Fund and the Armenian Development Agency as part of the sitting of Armenia-Iraq intergovernmental commission.

Over 50 Armenian companies engaged in various fields such as construction, pharmaceuticals, jewelry, food industry precise machine-building are presented at the exhibition. Iraqi delegation is headed by co-chair of Armenia-Iraq intergovernmental commission Roz Nuri Shawees and comprises of about 50 officials and about 70 business representatives.

According to ArmStat, Armenian exports to Iraq amounted to 15.7 million dollars in 2012.
