Price reduction for electric amps in Iraq after increasing share of kerosene to generators

Baghdad Provincial Council plans to reduce the price of amps for the government and private generators after the Oil Ministry has increased the share of kerosene to 30 liters per (KVA) for the upcoming month of August for the owners of generators that officially registered in Baghdad and other provinces of Iraq.

Ministry spokesman Assem Jihad said that the oil ministry will distribute the kerosene share of August starting from next Tuesday to all registered owners of generators whether public or private.
He noted that the increase would be by 30 liters per (KVA) after it was 20 liters per (KVA) in the past few months.

Mr. Jihad said that the move comes to ensure the continued operation of generators deployed in Baghdad and the provinces and to compensate citizens for power outages as well as to refute all the allegations broadcast by black market traders propaganda that Ministry of Oil has limited inventories of kerosene.

He stressed that the ministry has taken several measures to deter the generators black market, including the launch of sale of kerosene (extra) on the owners of generators and the commercial price of 750 dinars per liter and the rate of 5 liters per (KVA).
