Oil pipeline detonated in Diwaniya province

Oil Installation Protection Department announced that the oil pipeline passing through the province was detonated, which is the first event of its kind here.

The sources told Aswat al-Iraq that the explosion was made by dynamite explosives below the oil pipeline coming from Basra to Baghdad.

Heavy damages were reported in the pipeline that transports oil from the south to north of Iraq.

The pipeline explosion took place in Saniya area, 12 km north of Diwaniya city.

Yesterday, the city witnessed the explosion of a bombed car before the offices of one the Islamic parties, that led to wounding six and heavy damages in the building.
Diwaniya, center of the province, lies 180 km south of the capital, Baghdad.
