Country Down joinery firm wins important contracts in Kurdistan, Iraq | ||

The Downpatrick joinery business caters for high-end hotels and secured the business alongside a firm of international architects. The company, established in 2013 by Ciaran McMenamin and Simon McAllister, has designed interiors and carried out major refurbishment projects for customers in North America, France and Switzerland. Mr. McMenamin said the contract in Kurdistan, was "exceptionally important". He added, "We secured the business on the back of the successful completion of contracts, particularly in the US, for a leading architectural practice." "Their office in the Middle East approached us to work with them on the design, manufacture and installation of furnishings for the luxury complex. It's a prestigious complex that along with bespoke items of furniture and joinery work has involved extensive glass and marble features." Mr. McMenamin said the contract would also bring benefits for Lamont Stone in Coleraine, which will supply the marble. | ||
