Oil Ministry: The Security Situation In Anbar Disrupted Oil Pipeline From Haditha to Aqaba

Oil Ministry announced that Iraq is looking for international companies to build a pipe from the Haditha district to the Jordanian port of Aqaba after the stability of the security situation in the western region.

The ministry spokesman, Assem Jihad told the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA /: "Iraq has signed an earlier agreement with Jordan to extend a pipeline to transport oil through Haditha area in Anbar to the Jordanian port of Aqaba and then to Egypt and North Africa, but poor security situation in the western region of Anbar province hindered the project and disrupted Jordanian- Iraqi agreement. "

It is said that the Jordanian- Iraqi agreement includes a pipeline transports Iraqi oil to Jordan through the desert of Anbar, 1,700 km long, and the cost is estimated at $ 18 billion.
