Under the contract, aside from engineering, Petrofac’s scope of work includes construction management, commissioning and start-up services. The latest extension comes after the company won new contracts worth $70m in the country in April this year, with the prospect of offering around 250 jobs. The company has been operating in the country since 2010. Petrofac engineering and production services East managing director Mani Rajapathy said: “We’re delighted the IOCs in Iraq continue to choose Petrofac to support their operations. “Iraq is an important market for us and, as evidenced by the number of awards we’ve secured there this year, we’ve consistently proven our delivery and execution capability on behalf of our clients. “As we move forward, our teams will remain focused on ensuring services are delivered in alignment with our clients’ expectations to enable them to maximize value from their oil and gas assets.” In Iraq, the projects completed by the company include Shell’s Majnoon oil field and Gazprom’s Badra oil field. With respect to the Majnoon oil field, Petrofac provided early operational support, engineering and procurement, as well as construction management for the development of a new early production facility. It is currently providing support in terms of engineering and facilities modification services at the oil field, and additionally working on the Rumaila oil field and Iraq crude oil expansion project. | ||
