Iraq Central Bank policies to fight inflation

Iraq Central Bank policies to fight inflation
Alsumaria - [7/28/2010]
A Senior Official in the Central Bank said that the principal inflation in Iraq carried on regressing in June and reached 2.7% to be compared with 3% in May. Central Bank of Iraq slashed its base rate by 100 basis points to six per cent in April in reaction to subdued inflation, though the interest rate is considered symbolic in a country that dusts off the repercussions of war and which is still isolated from the International monetary System.
It is to be noted that Iraq Central Bank excludes oil prices in the inflation definition it adopts.
