Deputy Prime Minister for Energy, Hussain al-Shahristani opened stations to generate electricity in the province of Diwaniyah.
The two electrical stations were established within the contract between the Ministry of Electricity and the South Korean company STX in the north and east of the province.
The production capacity for both stations is 400 MW each with capacity of 200 MW.
The South Korean company STX announced last November 2011 on the direction of the project conducted two power plants north and east of Diwaniyah with a total capacity of 400 MW at a cost of $ 232 million, the company said that it is hoped that they are going to enter work during the month of July.
