- Baker Hughes Incorporated (BHI: News ) Monday released the details of international rig counts for the month of June 2012, including rig counts from Iraq, which have been included for the first time since 1990.
The oil service provider reported worldwide rig count of 3.484 rigs for the month of June 2012, 227 rigs higher than 3,257 rig counts reported for the month of June 2011.
International rig count for June 2012 was 1,285, which includes 79 rigs in Iraq. In the corresponding month last year, international rig count was 1,158.
The company further stated that the international offshore rig count for the same month was 305, higher than 298 counted in the same month last year.
The average U.S. rig count for June 2012 was 1,972, an increase of 109 from the 1,863 counted in June 2011.
