The Kurdistan Region's Council of Ministers has decided to open a new department for civil aviation in the region.
The Council of Ministers held its 10th meeting yesterday which was headed by Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani and attended by his deputy and ministers in the region, said a statement from the Ministry of Transportation and Communications.
In the meeting the officials talked about the enforcement of civil aviation law in the region and regulating the work of Kurdistan’s airports.
According to the website, the department will be under the Ministry of Transportation's authority.
The ministers discussed the railway projects in the region and asked for committees to be created to follow up the projects.
