The Iraqi Ministry of Transport announced the launch of an electronic system to control trains in the country.
The system relies on CBTC computer and connection code network which uses DMRCN waves.
This new system will provide safety in operating the transport system, said the ministry.
The ministry announced last year that it signed a contract with Deutsch Group worth $33m to design a railway between Iraq and Jordan.
Many of the large parts of the rail lines in Iraq are still unsophisticated and old due to neglect after the fall of the former regime in 2003.
