The Ministry of Foreign Affairs received nine pieces of Iraqi stolen antiquities from Spain after the fall of the former regime in 2003.
According to a ministry statement that "the Embassy of Iraq in Spain received nine cuneiform tablets dating back to the Sumerian era, was stolen from southern Iraq in uncovering illegal operations of the archaeological sites there after 2003.
The statement added that "the artifacts mentioned have been received in the headquarters of the National Archaeological Museum of Spain."
