The General Authority for Free Zones within the Ministry of Finance made an announcement concluding an agreement with the City Center for Vehicles Services Company Ltd. for establishing a free zone in Baghdad.
Sabah Salih al-Qaisi, who is the Director General of the Commission, reported in a statement to the Iraqi media that this Company concluded the agreement to set up the free zone in Awiridj area in Baghdad for practicing commercial activities, indicating that the Free Zone will take up 6563 square meters.
The free zones’ establishment in the provinces of Iraq will endorse the local economy and reduce the unemployment problem as well as branching out the state revenues, the statement added.
Qaisi claimed that the investment bodies to join in ensuring the success of this economic experiment.
