Maysan governorate declared obtaining the needed approvals to set up a typical electricity station in Maysan province during the year 2013.
Abdul Hussein Abdul Reda, who is the Head of the Provincial Council, did mention to Iraqi media on Sunday (27th January, 2013) that the Ministry of Planning has approved a proposal to allocate the funds, from the profits of the petro-dollar project, for building an electricity station with a capacity of 200-250 MW in Maysan province.
He also added that the Ministry of Oil and Maysan Oil Company also approved for providing the electricity station, which is expected to be accomplished in the year 2013, with the fuel required to operate it.
