The Iraqi Grain Board, submitted on Saturday a tender for purchasing 50 thousand tons of wheat from any origin.
The council said in a news announcement that the deadline for submission of tenders on November 30th and performances are required to effect to the fourth of December. And the bids are attached with insurance of one percent from the value of the offer.
The announced sizes stated in the Iraqi wheat tender for purchase are nominal and often the country buys more than the required quantity.
The Iraqi Ministry of Agriculture said in October that Iraq expected to import 2.8 million tons of wheat in 2008-2009 and an increase of 40 percent over the previous year with the local production negatively affected by severe drought.
According to figures obtained by Reuters from the ministry officials, that Iraq expects wheat production to decrease 27 percent to 1.6 million tonnes in 2008-2009.
