The oil Norwegian DNO International, expected that the Iraqi central government and the Kurdish leadership will conclude an agreement that allow the company to export crude oil from Kurdistan fields in the coming months, as the Executive Director said on Tuesday.
Helge Ede stated to Reuters saying it is expected that "Iraqi central government and the Kurdish leadership will agree to allow the company exporting crude oil from Kurdistan region's fields in the coming months", adding: "Perhaps it is very difficult to arrange the Agreement until the second quarter of 2009.
The Norwegian oil company has discovered large quantities of oil in the Kurdish area, but facing the prospect of not being able to market the crude oil, because of the differences between the Iraqi government and Kurdistan regional government on oil investment contracts which were signed by the province without permission from the central government.
