Description
The Contemporary Building company (C Building) was
formally established five years ago as the contracting branch of the Bureau
of Contemporary Design (BCD) ,a well established and highly reputable design
firm, the new company took over the contacting work being supervised by
BCD as well as several other new projects. The reputation of BCD coupled
with well selected highly qualified staff as well as the quality of the
end product, quickly establish contemporary building among the leaders of
private contracting companies. The company now enjoys a reputation for technical
excellence, honesty and quality.
The engineering and design staff have been carefully selected for academic
excellence, experience and the ability to adapt to the fast changing world
of design and building. Some of the staff are considered to be the best
in the country specially in the field of architectural design and computer
applications of building related programs. This includes CAD and modeling.
The primary objectives of the company are to produce well designed contemporary
buildings with advanced specifications and the quality to match.
Among recent projects are the assessment and design of over 100 schools
in the Anbar province, 30 railway stations between Baghdad and Ukashat,
building several animal dens in the Baghdad zoo, the rehabilitation of Baghdad
Central Station, and the design of the Baghdad 80000 seater Olympic Stadium.
Staff
Present staff include a design team of forty architects,
civil, electrical and mechanical engineers. Their qualifications range from
BSc., MSc. and one PhD in architecture.
The on site staff include over twenty engineers and well over 60 highly
qualified building professional in various fields brick layers to painters.
The company also has it’s own metal workshop, concrete formwork, and sales
showroom for cermaics and building chemicals. Completed work includes about
30 projects which include residential, commercial, educational, and hotel
buildings. There are also 17 projects under construction, and more than
140 being designed.
