The general director assured that the administration started implementing number of diving dams at Cany Azmer valley in Sulymania with achieving rate of 84%. The administration started to construct Houran Dam which is one of the small dams which lies on Houran valley in Anbar governorate (18 Km north east Rutba) and with capacity of 50 million cubic meters. The administration developed number of small dams in the western desert area (Al-Aghary and Al-Abeela dams) and finished Hasab dam in west Najaf city. The aim of constructing these small dams to store train water for Summer time in order to be used by shepherds in this area and to promote the groundwater and tourism. The director said that the work continues to finish Al-Othaim dam and install hydroelectric station. The interpolation work is continuous also in Al- Mosul dam and others finishing works in (Hadeetha, Himreen, Duckan, Derbendkhan and Duhok) dams with central control stations in governorates.
