The department finished working on Al-Atshan Bridge, also proceeding to finish Al-Khader Bridge and (Yameen Al-Furat) road which links Al-Majed district with Al-Helal district. The director assistant said that the work in Al-Khader Bridge will be finished at the end of this year as planned by Al-Mutasem contracting company. The department will start projects of the year 2004 plan they are: second passage of Samawa-Dywania road, second passage of Samawa-Naseriyah road, Al-Warkaa Ancient road to Al-Khader province, Al-Majed-Al-Baidah road of 34Km, constructing concrete bridge in Al-Majed district, constructing concrete bridge in Al-Deraji district, constructing iron bridge in Al-Helal district, Al-Atshan-Samawa bridge, Al-Khader-Al-Deraji road of 22Km length, and another road of Al-Raghla-Al-Atshan of 25Km. The department will also construct residential complexes vertically of 504 apartments, 5000 horizontal houses (1000 houses for every stage), as well as building 1200 rural houses within Modern Village Project (400 houses for every stage) and construct emergency house for institutions.
