| | |  |  | | JICA initiates training course for Iraqis in Jordan
The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) commenced here on Monday a training course in statistics and economics for a number of Iraqis.
With the participation of 20 Iraqis from different ministries and government organizations, the two-week program is a joint effort between JICA and the Jordanian Department of Statistics (DOS).
Regarding the course's goal, DOS' Director-General Dr. Hussein Shakhatreh said, at the course's opening, that Iraqi organizations are in definite need of understanding matters related to statistics and economy to better serve their country in general.
In similar statements, the Japanese Ambassador to Jordan Koichi Obata explained that the course was designed to train and qualify the trainees in fields of statistics, economics and Information Technology (IT).
