Starting from August 3, Iraqi Airways will operate the Baghdad-Istanbul-Baghdad air route, after 15 years halt.
Fly Service Corporation, handling Iraqi Airways sales, said in a press release on Saturday that the airline company will start with two flights per week, on Monday and Thursday, between Baghdad and Istanbul.
Turkish sources said, Minister of Transportation Binali Yildirim and a major Iraqi official will hold a ceremony following the landing of the first Iraqi airplane in Ataturk International Airport here.
They added, operating the air route would reinforce bilateral relations and push forward the commercial and economic cooperation between the two countries.
