Abdul Hussein al-Morshedi, the major of Baghdad, has requested the Japanese companies to actively participate in the process reconstruction of the Iraqi capital, Baghdad. On this regard, a meeting was held between the mayor of Baghdad and new representative of the Japanese International for Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Iraq.
A delegation team was also in the meeting. Baghdad Municipality for Municipal Affairs Naim Al-Kaabi, Technical Affairs Ibrahim Mustafa and Director General of Baghdad Sewage Department have also participated in the meeting to a number of issues of common interest and ways of participation of Japanese companies in construction projects in the city of Baghdad.
The Relations and Information Directorate within Baghdad Mayorship has released a statement for the press media, which illustrates, "The meeting included the work of [JICA] private sector sanitation in the capital Baghdad, especially advisory sides as well as discussing future plans and projects that the agency intends to implement as a contribution in strengthening and improving the services submitted for Baghdad citizens.”
