Iraq to lift ban on Facebook soon

Iraq’s Acting Minister of Telecommunication Torhan Al Mufti announced that the ministry will lift ban imposed on social media site, Facebook, in the upcoming days.
“The Ministry has been monitoring the extent to which this ban has influenced ISIS members’ activity on Facebook. We will soon be lifting the ban on this site”, he said.
He also stressed, “The Ministry of Telecommunication has decided to lift the ban imposed on Facebook in the upcoming few days after security procedures have been concluded.”
The Iraqi State has imposed a cyber-ban numerous times on Facebook for the extraordinary security circumstances the country went through and to restrict the communication means between armed guerillas.
